My Story

The following year, I attended a masterclass in Venice, where I explored the historical art of perfume-making. It deepened my passion for creating products with intention, leading me to the traditional craft of cold process soap-making. Using olive oil as a base and minimal, skin-loving ingredients, I embraced the beauty of simplicity — both for our bodies and the planet.

Craving a slower pace and a connection to nature, we moved to a smallholding in Cornwall. From a market shed in Porthleven, I introduced Alkemi to its first customers and met an inspiring community of makers. Plant goddess Sapling and Bud, glass artists like Cerwyn's Creative Waves, and creative souls like Gullz R Loud shaped my early journey.

But life, as it often does, had other plans. By the end of 2018, with the pressure of making Alkemi sustain our family, I returned to consulting in London. The pandemic brought further challenges — weekend craft fairs disappeared, and remote work took over. In 2021, with a heavy heart, I paused Alkemi to focus on my career and family.

In the years since, I’ve grown through loss, reflection, and resilience. The passing of my beautiful mother in 2023, followed by my loving Great Auntie and the sudden loss of my job in 2024, brought immense change. But with grief came clarity — a desire to live a more authentic, purpose-driven life.

This is my time to shine.
